Wonderful Roses

I took these photos with my Hitachi digital camera. It's not one that I can have full control over but I wanted to capture these roses from my fiance before class tonight. Even though I don't have full control over this camera but it still is really great for those photos that you need to capture right then and it's the only thing handy.

Student Contract

Music has been a hobby of mine since grade school. I can sing, play sax, a little flute and a little piano. I decided that I wanted to combine my 2 favorite hobbies, music and photography. I have some friends in the music department willing to let me use them and there instruments for shoots, and I'm also hoping to catch some more candid type shots as well. Some shots will instruments alone to catch the essence of the instrument and others will be done with the musician. In high school I played around with some musical instruments for some still life and lighting assignments, this time around I would like to do some portraits as well as some stills. To keep a variety I want to play around with black and white, digital and even some holga photos. I have also obtained permission from Dr. Marchant (Choir Director) to do some photos of our Organ and the pianos, so I'm going to try different times of the day for different lighting. Also, hopefully during our different concerts I will be able to get some photos of some of the ensembles, but I will have to deal with not being allowed to use flash, so we can see how those will turn out. I'm also wanting to play with some of the photos in photoshop. I don't have much experience with Photoshop which is why I would like to work with it some more. I did a little work in high school and I had been able to do some on my own time with a friends' copy of photoshop cs. I don't want to focus strictly on Black and White or Color, I would like to experiment with what I can to see what will end up being developed throughout the semester.

First for the semester

My digital camera's battery is dead, so I decided to use my new BlackBerry for some shots when I woke up today since I wanted color and to be able to post them quickly. So I know the quality isn't going to be the best, but I worked with what I had. All of these photos were taken from outside of my apartment.
